What Lies Within
The sound of my laughter,
Is all that that they can hear,
It’s all that they see.
They never notice the pain in my eyes,
The tenderness that lies within,
The tears that may seem to swell.
They see me run back and forth,
Looking so damn healthy and well.
Fit and perfectly in shape..
Never will they know that I’m battered,
Very unhappy, my heart is but shattered,
And my mind is forever lost in vain.
They will never know I stopped living,
Since the day you deserted my life,
Since you chose her over me…
They will never know,
That I am but a wounded soul,
A broken heart.
