Then & Now
There was the time when his life was having best of its days,
Bitter sweetness at every part but now it makes him smile in different ways,
Unknown to others, he had confessions in his mind,
Unlike others, he had new ambitions to find.
Staying up late he kept on thinking,
Staying away from home, he indulged in drinking.
In the morning when the school bus came honking at his door,
Hurrying up, his everything was falling on the floor.
By the time his family wanted him to become a collector,
In the mean while he was getting scoldings from the school director.
Then came 12th, his life turned upside down,
Laced with his mischievousness, his anxiety was around.
Life took a turn like that in a movie,
He met a person who taught him, Who was He?.
Bunking tuitions n roaming around to have that one glimpse,
Sitting in the theater relating his story with all those films.
Started to get along well, good times they started to share,
He still remember that shy face covered with those glares.
Talking on the phone, sometimes half-asleep,
Came the first time when he asked her out n said – lets meet.
Driving her way out with that dog bite on her feet,
They ordered cold coffee n the spicy pizza that tasted so sweet.
Having the taste of dumbness in everything he did n said,
Started growing relationship with the distance they cant neglect.
A day without speaking to her, he can not bear,
But it has to be this way cause this is life n is just not fair.
She told him, we won’t get anything before time n more than our share,
Still remember when on her b’day they played the game of truth n dare.
The time they had was one of its kind, no one can compare,
Now they can only write lines thinking of one another in despair.
Time kept on passing n they started settling for less,
That’s how he understood this is life, not the game of chess.
But now when he recalls those days, that time,
It brings him nothing but a shining smile.
Cause this was it, and its all mine,
My ultimate life from 2007 to 2009.
