Birthday Poems And Poetry

Dad’s Birthday

Today is your birthday,
You would have been ninety-five this year.
Birthdays are supposed to be days of
Not a day of tears.
Granny would have been over to eat,
But she lies in a grave asleep.
But my years full of memories of you,
Are things I hold so deep.
I would have gotten you socks,
Or some other silly thing.
You reside in Heaven,
But I must say you earned your wings.

The Painter

I keep my friends eternally
We leave our tracks in the sound
Some of them are with me now
Some of them can’t be found

It’s a long road behind me
And I miss you now

Neil Young

Lonely Again

Sitting in class lonely again,
Thinking bout the way it has been, thought it was love,
Though it was true ,
Then a name came out the blue,
I asked and asked what was his name, then a look a look of shame,
I asked do you feel the same,
She replies no as tears fell from her eyes, how, how can you feel this way after this long, what was it what did I do wrong, I loved you from the bottom of my heart, how can you take it tear it apart, so now what, what can I do, nothing, but sit here and miss you.

It’s time to Box Out

WOW What a Blitz
Fell like a ton of bricks
One day it’s I would
The next it’s the blues
Like I haven’t felt
That many times
And I’ve Never enjoyed
Drinking Wine
Distorted I was
For Quite a long while
Gosh Damn it was hard to smile
As the weather warms up
I contemplate
Do I move forward
Or Stay here and wade
In my tub of sorrow
It does me no good
I wonder how things are
Off up in my old hood
I wonder If I’ll meet
The person I thought
But I’ve kicked my shadow enough
It’s time to Box Out.

The way they felt

I miss them so much,

The way they felt

And Their touch

The smallest so funny

And cute like a bunny,

A boy so fantastic

His spirit and heart ever-lastin’

And a mother,

That Makes it all happen

I’m here at home

Of course I am alone

Trying to determine which memory

I Miss the most,

H-Dog at the plate

The cute girl in the stands

Or Looking down

At those thin beautiful hands

Many deep breaths I must take

Since I had my heart break

-3 Is Much Less Than None

My Heart is There

From where you lay,
Night & day,
through suns and moons
over oceans & sand,
above clouds and stars,
trees and land.
It is there beating beside you.
Hoping you feel it when your blue.
Hooked on a beauty that sets the sky a new.
Her eyes so beautiful, her smile so bright.
And oh so do I love you the heart beats.
So when happiness & love has disappeared, know that its near.
With you my heart is there.

A Prayer For A Mother’s Birthday

Lord Jesus, Thou hast known
A mother’s love and tender care:
And Thou wilt hear, while for my own
Mother most dear I make this birthday prayer.

Protect her life, I pray,
Who gave the gift of life to me;
And may she know, from day to day,
The deepening glow of Life that comes from Thee.

As once upon her breast,
Fearless and well content I lay,
So let her heart, on Thee at rest,
Feel fears depart and troubles fade away.

Her every wish fulfill;
And even if Thou must refuse,
In anything, let Thy wise will,
A comfort bring such as kind mothers use.

Ah, hold her by the hand,
As once her hand held mine;
And though she may not understand,
Life’s winding way, lead her in peace divine.

I cannot pay my debt,
For all the love that she has given;
But Thou, love’s Lord, wilt not forget,
Her due reward,–bless her in earth and heaven.

Henry Van Dyke.

Birthday Wish

Its your birthday,
Its the time of year,
I can’t believe it’s already here!

So make a wish,
Upon the candle stick,
Just close your eyes and imagine it….

Now blow out the fire,
And open your eyes,
For what you desire,
Will be a surprise!

A Birthday Wish

I extend to you this Birthday wish,
and hope your day is fine,

I remembered you, on your Birthday,
so I hope you remember mine,

So accept this poem, from me to you,
with everything it’s for,

Have the happiest of Birthdays today,
and I wish you many more.

Tears For Your Birthday

Happy birthday brother,
It’s the big double digits
Your cake is yummy chocolate
It’s been your favourite since six.

My baby brother it’s a big day
I wish you could get presents
But your friends forget today
And mum’s tears have drowned it.

I sing the song without their help
And look you in the eye
I wish I could see you smiling
And wish I wouldn’t cry.

I take a piece of cake, it’s too big for one
I put some in front of your face
I wait till you eat it up
But your face is frozen in place.

I’m starting to get frustrated
Telling you to eat and eat
I even get so angry and mad
That I stand from my tattered seat.

“Eat it now, it’s your birthday!”
I yell and scream
But your face is mocking back at me
This fantasy is just another dream.

“Happy birthday my brother,
I hope you can see me now
I hope you’re looking down from heaven
And notice my unhappy frown.”

I eat my cake, sing the tune
And whisper one more goodbye
It’s been months, I wish you didn’t go
Today you’re suppose to be alive.

I walk away from the photo I took
Why were you so unhappy that day?
I don’t even have a photo of your happiness
For your special birthday.
