Good Bye (An Old One)
Goodbye to Sandy Dandy, Hayderation, H-Dog and B-Skins, oh how I loved your family again and again.
Goodbye to Charlie, your neighbors and scratches, your body and heart captivated my soul, opened latches.
Goodbye to the best live sporting event I’ve attended, it sure was cold so I’m glad KU winned it.
Goodbye to your smile, beer and hugs. And to the covers I messed up I did it with love.
Our record for not dropping will stand where it may, And I no longer I get to hear you say bay.
Goodbye to cheering for your son at his games, Even ran the clock once messed up too but it was okay.
Goodbye to Reno, The Island and Jake and Kate, I never could stand the latter anyway.
Goodbye to Luna, I’m A Child and Beck, I wish you’d given me a chance to win this all back.
Goodbye to lunch, Hickory Log and 810 Zone, now when I eat there I go there alone.
Goodbye to being sorry, but I really am, Just want you to know I was your biggest fan.
Good bye to Halloween when we carved away, that tool that you had sure was okay.
Goodbye to the time two arms got stuck, remember I went right in and gobbled them up.
I write you this poem in desperation and love and I hope you don’t forget I taught H to hit and
did it with love.
